Eftpos Brokers Pty Ltd (ABN 32 680 868 133) ("Eftpos Brokers", "we", "us") operates besteftpos.com.au (this website). We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it.

Who we are and how we make money

We are a free comparison broker for EFTPOS, POS and merchant payment services. We don't charge you for a quote. If you choose a provider through us, that provider may pay us a commission. Our related business, Okay Pay Pty Ltd (ABN 63 611 996 578, "Okay"), also sells merchant services directly.

What we collect

  • Details you give us — your name, business name, mobile number and email address.
  • Business details — the type of system you need, business type, approximate monthly card turnover, number of terminals and your current provider.
  • Your choices — for example whether you asked for a call or chose to progress a deal.
  • Technical and usage data — such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and how you reached our site (including which advertisement you clicked), collected using cookies and similar technologies.
  • Calls and messages — if you contact us or we contact you, we may keep a record of that communication.

Why we collect it and how we use it

  • To generate and send you an indicative price comparison.
  • To contact you (by phone, SMS or email) about your quote and to help you sign up with a suitable provider.
  • To verify that an email address or phone number is real, and to protect our site and advertising from spam and fraud.
  • To run, measure and improve our website and advertising, including audience and remarketing features from Google.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

If you'd like us to stop contacting you with marketing, tell us or use the unsubscribe option in any message and we will stop. We only send commercial electronic messages in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

Who we share it with

  • Payment providers and their partners — if you ask to progress a deal (or we discuss options with you), we pass your details to the relevant provider or reseller, such as Okay Pay Pty Ltd, Fiserv, ANZ Worldline, Live Payments or Tyro, so they can assess and set up your account. Their own privacy policies then apply to what they hold.
  • Service providers who help us run the business — website hosting and form handling (Netlify), email delivery (Resend), customer relationship management, telephony, analytics and advertising platforms (including Google).
  • Authorities or advisers where the law requires or permits it.

We do not sell your personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how the site is used and to measure and target our advertising, including Google Ads and Google Analytics. You can control cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google's ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, and use Google's opt-out tools for analytics. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

Security and how long we keep information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it. No online system is perfectly secure, so please be careful about what you send us.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct it. Call us free on 1800 595 340 and we'll respond within a reasonable time (normally within 30 days). If you have a complaint about how we've handled your information, contact us first and we'll investigate. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
