Surcharging's gone. Your fees aren't.
From 1 October 2026, the Reserve Bank has removed surcharging on eftpos, Mastercard and Visa — debit, credit and prepaid. You can't pass card fees on to your customers anymore. So every cent you pay your provider now comes straight out of your margin.
